Moieties

This option only appears in connection with reports which require moiety orbs to be used e.g the Classical report. In this case you will see a list of chart points for which it is possible to specify an orb in degrees and optionally minutes and seconds of arc.

You can edit any orb by clicking on it, and then typing in a new orb. (See Entering Angles for instructions on entering angles.)

Moiety orbs work as follows. To determine if an aspect is within orb, the orbs of each planet involved in the aspect are added together. For example, to determine if the Moon is square Mercury, their orbs are added (6 degrees for the Moon plus 3 degrees 30 minutes for Mercury equals 9 degrees and 30 minutes). If the square is closer than 9 degrees and 30 minutes, then it is considered to be within orb.
