House Cusp Degree Offsets

Traditionally, any planet which is near the cusp of the following house is interpreted as if it is actually placed in the following house. For example, if the Moon is in the 1st house, but within 5 degrees of the 2nd house cusp, then it can be interpreted as if it was inside the 2nd house.

It is possible to set an exact number of degrees within which a planet will be interpreted as being inside the next house (or “read into” the next house). The number of degrees may be set differently for different cusps as follows.

Angular (1, 4, 7, 10)

Succedent (2, 5, 8, 11)

Cadent (3, 6, 9, 12)

In each case, the number of degrees specified indicates the maximum distance before the cusps of these houses a planet may be in order to be read into that house. For example, if the Angular offset is set to 8 degrees, then any planet up to 8 degrees before the cusp of the 1st, 4th, 7th or 10th house will be read into that house.

You can set any whole number of degrees from 0 to 15. If you wish to prevent any chart points from being read into the next house, then set all of these to 0 (zero).
