Using the ACS PC Atlas

When creating new charts in Solar Writer the place for the chart must be entered. Places are stored in an atlas, and in Solar Writer you have two atlases to choose from.

One atlas is the ACS PC Atlas, which contains extensive location and timezone change information around the world. However if you do not have the ACS PC Atlas installed on your computer, then this option will not work correctly. In that case you must use the Solar Writer Atlas.

You access any Atlas when you are entering a new chart. See Casting a New Chart. Once you are in the "Chart Data Entry" screen and about to fill in the place for the chart you can use the ACS PC Atlas to retrieve the place if you wish.

>> To open the ACS PC Atlas dialog box

1.Click on the ACS PC Atlas option button

2.Click on the Place button.

This will display the dialog box for the ACS PC Atlas, listing the State (or Country), City, County (or State), Longitude and Latitude.

>> To select a country or state

1.Click on the Change State data field

A drop-down list box will appear, from which you can select any of the existing country or state names which are available in the Atlas.

>> To select a city

1.Click on the City in the list

A drop-down list box will appear, from which you can select any of the existing city names which are available for the selected country or state.

>> To return to the New Chart screen with the current place data

You will be returned to the New Chart screen and all the place details, including time zone for the given date and time, are inserted into their appropriate fields on the New Chart screen.
