Kepler College, based in the USA, is the only college of astrology in the western hemisphere authorized to issue BA and MA degrees. The entire curriculum is based on astrology. Kepler's first freshman class began in July 2000.

Kepler offers a Distance Learning with Symposia Program. Each academic term is twelve weeks in duration… eleven of which of are presented online. Students complete reading, writing and research assignments under the email guidance of the faculty. One week each term, students gather in Seattle, Washington for a 7-day onsite symposium. The Symposia are the "centrepieces" of the academic program and attendance is required.

Biorhythms

Everyone, for no apparent reason, goes through periods of good form, good self-control and periods when the mind is particularly clear. Conversely, there are also periods when one is unable to concentrate and the mind is confused. The reasons for these fluctuations remain unknown. Malvin Artley’s site is devoted to Oriental systems of astrology, especially Chinese astrology, and has two distinct leanings: Fate Calculation (Four Pillars, Tzu Wei, 9 Star Ki, etc.) and true Chinese astrology – the lunar mansions, the Chinese asterisms, comets, eclipses and the like, and the Celestial Messengers (the planets).

The University of the Seven Rays is a non-profit alternative institution of higher education granting degrees in the esoteric arts and sciences. She is the author of The New Fixed Star Workbook and has co-authored Asteroid Names and Nodes and Ephemeris of the Asteroid Diana. Llewellyn's "The Astrology of the Macrocosm" includes her chapter on earthquake prediction, NCGR's Essentials of Intermediate Astrology contains her essay on Fixed Stars, and her chapter on Fixed Stars and the Hindu Lunar Mansions appears in Richard Houck's Hindu Astrology Lessons.

Medieval Astrology Techniques

The realm of ancient techniques is a treasure trove for astrologers. The following traditional astrologers and schools can help you uncover astrological gems from the past.

Dr Lee Lehman holds MS and PhD degrees in Botany from Rutgers University. Her astrological interests have included new asteroids, historical methods, heliocentric astrology, horary and homosexuality. She has published four books to date: The Ultimate Asteroid Book (1988), Essential Dignities (1989), The Book of Rulerships (1992) and Classical Astrology for Modern Living (1996). She was the recipient of the 1995 Marc Edmund Jones Award, the first Horary Astrologer to be so honoured. Dr Lehman runs several correspondence courses on Classical Astrology and is the author of Solar Writer—Classical and Solar Writer—Medicus.

Robert Corre, author of The Forum of Astrology provides a classical approach to astrology based on the works of the 17th Century astrologer Morin de Villefranche as was taught by Zoltan Mason of New York. This approach stresses seeing the chart as a whole intergrated unit.

Robert Hand has been a student of astrology since 1960 and a full-time professional astrologer since 1972. His books include Planets in Composite, Planets in Transit, Planets in Youth, Horoscope Symbols and Essays on Astrology. He is also involved in translating medieval Latin texts of astrology into English in conjunction with his company ARHAT (Archive for the Retrieval of Historical Astrological Texts). In this connection he has written a short text on astrological sect called "Night and Day". Soon to be published is a longer work tentatively entitled Planetary Rulership and Dignity. His primary activity at present is ARHAT a company which publishes both translations of ancient and medieval texts and which will publish new secondary source material on traditional astrology. He and his wife Lisa also have an active astrological consulting practice in Washington D.C.

Robert Hand's ARHAT project is a great resource for those wanting to further research and understand the medieval techniques in Solar Fire.

Rectification

You are interested in astrology but you don't know your birth time. What do you do? You can consult a qualified astrologer or use software to find your birth time. Finding the correct birth time is vital to an accurate astrology chart but many people don’t know their birth time. The first step is to exhaust all possibilities ask a living relative, search for baby records, phone the hospital or phone the local library if your hospital has since closed. If you still can’t discover your time of birth then you will need to partake in a special process called “Rectification”. This is a complex process during which the astrologer will ask you for major life events, timed as closely as possible to a day. The astrologer will then undertake a complex procedure of matching dates to astrological events with the view to finding a time for you.
