11/11/02 When I do relocation reports on my own chart, I find that there are several degrees discrepancy between the given values of planets in the report and what shows up in a longitudinal chart for that location. I am not talking about the difference between "in mundo" rising, culminating, etc. and zodiacal longitude placements. I am talking about Zodiacal longitude placements. |

I assume that you are referring to the "orbs" quoted in the relocation report, and comparing them with the longitudinal orbs in the chart. This is an interesting point which could cause some confusion. The orbs in the relocation report are not orbs of ecliptical longitude, even though you might have expected them to be so when you have selected the "Zodiacal" lines option. Rather, the orbs in the report are as follows:
To put it another way, the orbs in the relocation report are geographically based orbs rather chart based (ie. ecliptical) orbs. For example, if you have an MC line with an orb of 2d10m, then relocating the chart by 2d10m in longitude (in the right direction) will make the conjunction exact. However, if you examine the chart for the same location, you may find that the longitudinal orb between the MC and planet is somewhat different.

15/1/02 In Solar Maps, I have noticed that some planet MC or IC lines cross the rise or set lines of the same planet. I know this happens at the poles but the instance I noticed was of George W Bush where this happens over Israel. How is this happening? Also I have V2 Solar Maps and can't set the word processor for reports - it doesn't seem to recognise the path to Word that comes with Windows 98 and the default is to Write which does not exist with this version of Windows. The Culminate (MC) and Anticulminate (IC) lines on a map all meet at the North and South poles, as you suggested. However, the Rise and Set lines are related to the ecliptic and if you have the ecliptic line turned on in Solar Maps then you will see that the Rise and Set lines converge to points above the highest and lowest part of the ecliptic, which on the map of the world, the highest point is around the tip of Eastern Russia and Alaska, and the lowest point is off the coast of the Antarctic. In the case cited for George W. Bush, I did not find that any of the rise or set lines went through Israel. The data I used for Bush was: 6th July 1946, 7.26am, New Haven CT 41*N18'29" 72*W55'43" giving 7* Leo 07' ascendant. If this varies with your data, please let me know. Also, if we are both using the same birth data then I may need to get you to send me a printout of the map in question either by fax or by email.
